Image processing happens in your browser

When you choose an image, cropping, colour matching, pattern generation, bead editing, mirroring, and exports happen locally in your web browser. Your source image is not uploaded to a BeadDraw server. An unsaved image remains in browser memory and is discarded when the page is closed or replaced.

Projects you save locally

Saving is optional. Choosing Save stores the project in your browser’s IndexedDB storage. This may include the source image, project name, board and crop settings, conversion settings, logical bead pattern, manual edits, selected colours, and build progress.

Browser saves remain on that device and are never uploaded automatically, even after you create an account. Cloud uploads and updates require an explicit action. Downloaded browser copies remain available offline and after sign-out; deleting a cloud project or account does not delete browser copies.

Optional accounts and cloud storage

An optional account uses a username and password, with no email address, verification, or recovery. The server stores your username and a password hash, not your password in plain text. Changing your password requires your current password. Only an explicit upload sends a project’s name, bead pattern, browser-generated design thumbnail, settings, and build progress to the server; source images are never included. An HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in and cannot be read by application JavaScript. Storage and request limits protect the service. Server backups may retain deleted data until they expire; cloud storage and backups are not a guarantee against data loss. Deleting a cloud project removes it from active storage; deleting an account removes the account, sessions, and its cloud projects from active storage. Neither removes copies saved in your browser.

Preferences and offline files

Your selected “Colours I own” preference is stored locally. The Progressive Web App service worker may cache application files such as HTML, JavaScript, styles, and icons for reliable or offline loading. It does not place project images in the application asset cache.

Privacy-friendly analytics

BeadDraw uses Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the application. Plausible does not use cookies or create profiles that follow you across websites.

For standard pageviews, Plausible may process the page URL, referring website, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location derived from the IP address. The IP address and browser information produce a rotating daily visitor identifier; the raw IP address is not stored.

Alongside pageviews, we record whether a project is started, a pattern is created, the build view is reached, an export completes, a project is saved or reopened, an operation fails, or a Buy Me a Coffee link is clicked. Events may include only fixed categories for project source, conversion mode, bead size, export type, failed operation, and support-link location. They never include source images, bead patterns, project names or contents, palette selections, inventory, or exported files. Offline activity is not queued or sent. We do not use advertising trackers or sell project information.

Hosting and standard server logs

The hosting provider may process IP addresses, browser types, requested resources, timestamps, and security logs when delivering application files and handling account or cloud requests. Account requests carry the credentials needed for authentication; explicit project uploads carry source-free project data. Source images are never sent.

Exports and your controls

PNG and PDF exports are generated in your browser. Delete browser copies in the local project library or clear this site’s browser data. Delete cloud projects separately in the cloud library, or delete your account and its cloud projects in account settings. Sign-out and account or cloud deletion do not remove browser copies, including on shared devices. Clearing browser data, private browsing, or uninstalling the PWA may permanently remove local copies and does not delete cloud projects.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if BeadDraw’s features or data practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes to data practices will be reflected in this policy before they take effect.
